While many of use are lucky enough to tote around uber sexy MacBook Aris or other pretige laptops, there's millions of cubicle dwellers around the country who have no choice but lug drab fleet laptops around with them wherever they go.
Toshiba has unveiled their latest fleet laptops, the Tecra R840 and R850, and these svelte beauties are, for a change, mobile machines that anyone can be proud of.
How so? The 14-inch R840 and 15,6 inch R850 are booth Sandy Bridge affairs, rocking Intel's latest multi-core CPUs for blistering performance. In addition, both laptops boast USB 3.0 ports, which is worth comment in and of itself, while USB 3.0 hasn't really been adopted on a broader scale in the businness world yet, Toshiba releasing their businness laptops with next-gen ports will at least make that rollout a little more likely.
The R840 and R850 are also excellent. These are beautiful, for fleet machines with chiclet keyboards, fiberglass-reinforced casing and a Honeycomb rib structure.
As for battery life, both machines boast betbook-like capabilities to remain juiced through a day of road warrioring. Toshiba claims that each machine has a battery that will keep going for ten hours per charge, and up to 11 hours if you opt for an SSD.
You can also buy yourself an R840 or R850 through Toshiba's website, starting at just $899 and $879, respectively.
